AvaTrade is one of the premial Forex and CFDs brokers currently operating on the market. It has received numerous awards and has been recognized as a leading brokerage company in Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Even though the broker offers competitive trading conditions which can be found with few companies only, AvaTrade offers affordable trading prices and trading capital requirements. The minimum recommended AvaTrade broker minimum deposit is 100 US dollars, which is equivalent to 1435 South African rands.
The broker does not need to provide different account types, since it already offers ultra-tight spreads starting from 0.6 pips, flexible leverage of 1:500, numerous trading platforms and tools, and trader benefits such as free educational packs, all in one single trading account. There is an option to upgrade to a Professional trading account with the broker in order to gain more exposure on the market with higher leverages and convenient margin requirements. However, it comes with applicable terms and conditions and further equity requirements.
In this article, we will cover what are the AvaTrade minimum deposit requirements across different trading platforms, for different nationalities and how a trader can upgrade to a professional trading account with the broker.
In general, AvaTrade has a single starting capital requirement for setting up a real trading account with the broker – the minimum deposit should be at least 100 US dollars or 1435 South African rands. However, the requirement will change across different platforms with the broker due to various specifications that the platforms come with. Traders can sign up to trade MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 with a 100 USD investment. There will be no additional charge required for trading on these platforms.
However, there are some innovative trading terminals where usually traders involved in day trading or automated trading will have to invest more than 100 USD. For instance, AvaTrade copy trading minimum deposit will be different for ZuluTrade users and DupliTrade users. On ZuluTrade, clients have to make a deposit of at least 500 US dollars, or 7191 ZAR to activate the automated trading account. Whereas on DupliTrade the minimum deposit requirement further increases to 2000 USD or 28,767 ZAR. Another AvaTrade automated trading platform – AvaSocial requires no minimum deposit, therefore traders can start the account with just 100 US dollars. Similarly, AvaTrade GO minimum deposit is 100 USD/1435 ZAR, as well.
As we have already mentioned, AvaTrade offers only one account type for its retail traders – the AvaTrade Standard account. The account type comes with a 100 USD minimum deposit requirement for all clients on MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, AvaTrade GO, and AvaSocial trading platforms, or AvaTrade minimum deposit ZAR – 1435 South African rands. As discussed, AvaTrade copy trading platforms have different minimum deposit requirements. Furthermore, there are no factors that would affect the amount of investment required with the Standard account of AvaTrade.
On the other hand, if traders are looking forward to setting up a professional trading account other requirements come into force. As per the requirements of the regulatory authorities that license and regulate the broker, professional accounts need to be supported with certain data and documents. Traders need to demonstrate that they had sufficient trading activity within the last 12 months of the application time. It means that they should show that they have significant-sized transactions at an average frequency of 10 per quarter (over the last four quarters) in the otc derivatives markets such as leveraged CFDs, currency pairs, or spread betting. Furthermore, they should have worked in the financial industry for at least a year. They should also provide a financial instrument portfolio that contains over 500,000 EUR of equity including cash savings and financial instruments, or 7,194,350 ZAR.
Previously, AvaTrade used to require different minimum deposits for different countries. It was mainly adjusted according to the US dollar exchange rate. However, now the broker offers four different base currencies available for traders that do not change and are fixed at all times. The available base currencies are USD, EUR, GBP, and AUD. However, the GBP account is available for the United Kingdom residents only and AUD is available for the residents of Australia. Therefore, traders from South Africa or any other location have the possibility to choose between USD and EUR accounts according to their preferred conversion rate for ZAR-EUR and ZAR-USD.
Since the broker does not distinguish between the nationalities of the clients, minimum deposit requirements are the same for all nations. For instance, AvaTrade Canada minimum deposit is 100 USD, even though AvaTrade Canada does not offer CAD as a base currency.
